Hey y'all, the holidaze are over, which means, "You Gots to Chill". Let loose. Dance. Drink. Chiiiill...Austin's premiere old-skool slingers of golden-era vinyl platters have gotch your back at the top of this year! Not only will we be playing everything from the early disco era rap jamz, to the golden era where we'll be paying homage to acts like EPMD and the likes, but we will also be playing jamz up until 2000, and beyond! A little for all dat azz. We'll be straight housin', or, straight Lampin' in this case.
Remember, Cold Lampin' is FREE as fuck, and we'll be handing out prizes to the flyest gear doned! The older skool, the better, but just as long as you look fly to the eye!
The annual Sock Hop NYE celebration at Shangri La is ON! We may have put an end to our monthly shenanigans, but that was just to make way for the REAL party! It'll be another 6 months down the road before we throw another one, so you might wanna come out and get your fix while you can. The Sock Hop Deejays, along with special guest Brian Poust, will be spinning a lot of our favorite 50's and 60's Soul, R&B, R'nR, Garage, Girl Groups, Doo Wop, World, obscurities and gems of all kinds. Don't. Miss it.

Cold Lampin' is my monthly golden-era, old-school, hip hop dance party. We spin all vinyl and specialize from the earliest rap, up until about 2000. Throw back fly gear is encouraged but not mandatory. Dancing is strongly encouraged. Plenty of space to just hang out back. Who's ya daddy, who's ya daddy, who's ya daddy? Ho, ho, ho!

Second Sunday Sock Hop has been a monthly dance party that I started over 10 years ago, this particular event will mark the last monthly installment. After this month, we will only plan on bi-annual parties. At the Sock Hop, we DJ all vinyl, obscure 1950's and 60's R&B, soul, rock 'n roll, garage, doo wop, girl groups, and world beats of all kinds. Dancing and socializing are staples at SSSH, and this should prove to be no exception. This is not to be missed!
